Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and flexible Support Worker (predominantly Waking Nights) with good communication skills to join us in the Isle of Man Services who can demonstrate integrity, compassion, and real commitment to working with Autism Initiatives.
This is a very exciting time to join Autism Initiatives due to the continued growth and opportunities for career development.
Position: Support Worker (predominantly Waking Nights)
Reference: IOM96b
Salary Range: 22,250 - 23,500 per annum pro rata
based on a 39 hour working week
Hours: 37.5 hours
As a member of a team you will be listening to individuals with ASC, understanding their preferences and needs. You will work alongside people, supporting them in a range of activities, including developing independence in daily living, accessing work and leisure activities. You will work on a rota basis including evenings, weekends and sleep in duties and additionally you may be required to perform waking nights as and when needed.
At present, we are particularly interested in applicants who can share the following interests and activities with the people we support:
Community activities and visit various places on the Isle of Man
Garden activities
Board games & arts and crafts
Cookery & baking
You will also be required to have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be able to use your own initiative but also be a key team player
To support you in your new role we offer a range of training at induction, together with on-going learning and development opportunities.
This position requires an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service. The cost of which will be met by Autism Initiatives.
